A BRASS-CORNERED WALNUT STORAGE CASE FOR A DOUBLE PERCUSSION SHOTGUN, WITH LEATHER SLIP OUTER,
circa 1855, the lid with flush fitting brass corners and central shield-shaped escutcheon amateurly engraved 'W.J.T.', the inside lined and compartmented in embossed brown leatherette originally for 30in. barrels (some compartments loose and altered, divider absent from flask compartment), lift-out walnut wad-box now containing sundry cleaning items, period ebony patch-box, the inside of lid with original 'ROCHESTER WILLIAM PAPE' trade-label, the leather slip outer with gummed paper 'Pape' label addressed to a 'Mr Tuckett Esq.' at a Devon address (end flap partially detached)
